BISIM'S FLAGSHIP VBS4 COMBINED ARMS DEMONSTRATIONS AT I/ITSEC 2023

Nov 13, 2023

Orlando, USA - Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim), a global developer of advanced military simulation and training software, will be exhibiting at I/ITSEC 2023 (booth #1071), Nov. 27-30, 2023 in Orlando. With conflict dramatically evolving, modern military organizations must follow suit. This year, BISim’s booth will focus on demonstrating how militaries in need of training with high complexity and accuracy can meet those urgent needs with BISim’s flagship VBS4 tactical virtual simulation software and its geospatial products, such as Mantle ETM.

In today’s geopolitical environment, armed forces must fully leverage experimental capabilities like drone warfare and maintain traditional combined arms maneuver, all while re-learning old doctrine lessons from trench warfare and artillery duels. VBS, the leading collective tactical training tool deployed in more than 60 NATO-friendly countries, has been updated with impressive new capabilities to train in both modern, non-traditional, and classical doctrine, fulfilling offensive, enabling and defensive tactics. Its best-in-class training and force preparation can vary from trench assaults to fire planning to drone and counter-drone operations, all supported by autonomous tactical AI and the ability to rapidly set-up accurate mission-rehearsal in today’s battlefields.

In daily Combined Arms demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., BISim’s subject matter experts will play out a highly complex Ukraine-style battle with matching BluFor and OpFor tactics. This scenario covers mounted and dismounted troops with extensive ISTAR sensor input, using networked workstations as well as VR, all powered by VBS4’s state-of-the-art autonomous AI.

Terrain is the foundation of military simulation. As in real world operations, the accuracy and fidelity of terrain in simulation influences training outcomes. The right terrain is needed at the highest level of detail now, not in weeks or months, for all users (the ‘Enterprise’) with minimal administrative burden. Military organizations can achieve this at ‘enterprise’ scale, at speed, and in the Cloud, with BISim’s revolutionary Mantle ETM product. At I/ITSEC, BISim’s geospatial experts will demonstrate Mantle ETM’s direct streaming of correlated terrain to Unreal Engine. BISim will also demonstrate newly added support for Unity, OpenFlight, and MetaFlight formats, as well as simple GIS data import. This is done using an easy-to-use web interface that simplifies and significantly accelerates the process of building terrain for all simulations.

BISim staff will be available to answer questions at booth #1071, as well as give custom demonstrations of the latest release of our flagship VBS4 tactical virtual simulation software. With the new 23.2 releases for VBS4 and VBS Blue IG, our state-of-art Image Generator, we’ve packed more game-changing updates into the software than ever before.

Partner Demonstrations at I/ITSEC and BISim booth #1071

In addition to over 20 partners demonstrating BISim’s software in action in a number of different configurations at the show, BISim partners will be demonstrating its products in action on booth #1071.

Inzpire will showcase its Compact Agile Simulator Equipment (CASE)

Inzpire delivers excellence in defence and has an expert team with several thousand years of frontline, high-end, military experience.

Inzpire will showcase its Compact Agile Simulator Equipment (CASE) for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) mixed-reality simulator, which delivers deliver cost-effective UAS training to the trainee at the point of need.

The CASE system is designed and built using commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software and is contained within a ruggedised, man-portable ‘pelicase’ for ease of deployment. CASE can be rapidly configured to add additional trainee positions, allowing the system to be efficiently scaled to mass, operated in a standalone configuration, or connected to other simulation systems using standard protocols, creating a networked or distributed synthetic training system.

The CASE UAS mixed-reality simulator runs the latest version of BISim’s VBS4 & VBS Blue IG software, which provides a rich synthetic training environment (STE) to support complex tactical training. CASE’s use of mixed-reality BISim technology allows trainees and operators to interact with real-world equipment while being immersed in the high-fidelity STE without the need for highly expensive dome visual systems.

Motion Systems new RCM-C420 (Reconfigurable Cockpit Module) confirms that in the era of groundbreaking changes in training systems using VR/AR/MX goggles

Motion Systems based in Nadolice Wielkie, Poland, has been an international leader in the design, development, and build of durable and high-performing motion technology since 2009. Its straightforward mission is to create new opportunities by setting the world in motion.

Displaying at I/ITSEC with BISim’s VBS4 software, Motion Systems new RCM-C420 (Reconfigurable Cockpit Module) confirms that in the era of groundbreaking changes in training systems using VR/AR/MX goggles, motion is a necessity, not a luxury. The modular RCM-C420 is designed for special military applications, with a cockpit design based on the requirements of the U.S. Army’s RVCT (Reconfigurable Virtual Collective Trainer) programme. With the RCM-C420 and additional accessories, it is possible to quickly build functional workstations for operators of ground, maritime, and airborne systems. Additionally, the entire RCM-C420 set is easily transportable and can be rapidly repositioned at new locations or new modules added.
